Siddhu (Vidyut Jammwal) from Mumbai loves doing stunts. He aspires to go to MAIDAAN, somewhere in Europe, to compete and win big cash prizes. Dev (Arjun Rampal) runs the place and gives bizarre challenges to contestants from all over the world. When Siddhu finally reaches the place of his dreams, he learns the shocking truth about the death of his brother Nihaal (who also had the same dream).

Crakk movie review: script analysis

How do you analyze a film script for which the directors have made little effort to make sense? Siddhu abandons his parents without hesitation to go with a stranger on a boat and lands somewhere in Europe in MAIDAAN. Dev is a maniac who not only takes on these deadly challenges but also runs corrupt businesses. Then there is a team of random people like the Bigg Boss, who keep an eye on everything that is happening in MAIDAAN. There is also Amy Jackson, a police officer who wants to expose Dev and his illegal activities for the good of her country. The film also has Nora Fatehi, but you can ignore her as the makers wanted.

I don’t know how to say this politely, but Crakk is a movie for people who get sadistic pleasure from watching others die a painful death. Honestly, no one even cares about the contestants dying in these Squid Game type setups performing Khatron Ke Khiladi type stunts, but on steroids. At least Dev is the bad guy, so it’s understood he has no humanity left. But what about the others? Why are the audience and commentators applauding so much, while some competitors are dying?

Usually, the protagonists in the film have compassion towards others. Considering Siddhu lost his brother in the same place, why doesn’t he care about these deaths? Why doesn’t anyone question this game where people land dead? I couldn’t even comprehend the madness that was happening on screen once I saw these young men and girls drop dead with millions of people watching this live on screen.

There is nothing sensible in the film. Yes, everything defies the laws of physics. But what about logic? Why is the dialogue so terrible? Why is the film so long? Why is something like this allowed on this planet? I wonder if there is anyone, other than the creators, who could make sense of everything that happens on screen.

Crakk movie review: star performance

Vidyut Jammwal goes into action mode again. His accent is terrible and his emotions are even worse. Arjun Rampal as Dev is obnoxious, and it seems like there’s some RaOne left in him. And he wants to show humans what a video game character looks like when you play fatal adventures with them. Amy Jackson, as Patricia struggles to reach Dev while struggling to speak the tricky dialogues in Hindi. A dance number with Nora Fatehi would have made more sense than the pointless character she plays. Also, everyone makes Hindi sound horrible except Arjun.

Review of the film Crakk: direction, music

Aditya Datt’s brave attempt to bring a ridiculous storyline to life is commendable. Everything we see on screen is so horrific that one can only appreciate his courage to pull off something like that. Not a single character is presented in a sympathetic manner. The action sequences don’t give you any adrenaline rush. Twist after twist after twist doesn’t shock you. The final sequence between Vidyut and Arjun is long and tedious, without any element of surprise.

The music of Mithoon, MC Square, Tanishk Bagchi and Vikram Montrose is unforgettable.

Crakk: The Last Word movie review

The film leaves you with many reasons, one of them being: why would anyone think this deserves to be a film? The joy of watching action cinema is mercilessly murdered with every passing minute!
